20 – Last days in cap Ternay

December 6, 2011
Here we are, the last week in cap ternay is here, and it feels extremely strange to know it has already been 10 weeks. On Friday we had our normal braii with a lot of Mexican food, meaning meat and melted cheese! All we need really! Since most of us were diving on Sunday, we decided to go out on Friday night instead of Saturday. We had heard that all the locals usually go out on Friday night anyways so we all wanted to check it out anyways. And it was true, Lafaya was packed with locals dancing like crazy. It was another fun night in town.
On Sunday the majority of the volunteers had signed up to dive. From now on, it is all fun dives so we ended up fooling around and taking lots of photos.

Last night all of us went to the orphanage for a big Christmas party with the kids. We had been wrapping their presents and making Christmas cards for them for the last couple of days, and it was good to finally put some faces on the names. They all seemed really happy and were all excited to get their gifts! They had prepared some dance routines for us, including some creole dancing and some hip-hop. One of the 3-years-old was completely fearless and tried to do a headstand during the hip-hop routine like the bigger boys; it was hilarious.  A very enjoyable night.

On another note, I just got some other photos from my weekend in La Digue and Praslin, and I thought I would share since some of them are really good and it was definitely one of my favorite weekends here!

  1. That 2nd to last photo is unreal. It looks like a stage set! Are you sure you're in the Seychelles? ;)
